Watermelon Realness

As I have referenced before, I was a total yuppie in middle school. I loved all Ralph Lauren everythang, and had quite the collection of polo shirts. At 25, I still love Ralph, more for the quality than anything. His designs are practical, well-made, and last for years. However, all of the pieces that I like by him are HELLA expensive. So what's the easiest solution to this quandary? Hit up the local thrift store, of course.
I have a collection of Ralph Lauren sweaters that have all been thrifted, and I think the most I have paid for one is $8. This is not a joke. I don't know why I find so many of them, but I won't complain because I love them. Seriously, don't even think about stopping at your local outlet mall, you barely save any money at all. Be prepared to shell out at least $60 for a brand new sweater. And the clearance section is a freaking joke; sorry, saving 10% is nothing to me. Rant over. Back to the sweaters.
The combination of pink and green brings me right back to middle school because those were my favorite colors to wear together. I kid you not, in my parents house there is still a picture of me from 6th or 7th grade, taken by The Picture People (remember that place??) I'm wearing white pants with pink and green plaid and one of those all-in-one white "undershirts" with a pink sweater with green stripes over top of it, AND pink Liz Claiborne Keds. It was a LEWK, honey. And I was feeling it 100%.
Today, I paired my bright green sweater with a vintage fuchsia skirt, giant vintage earrings, and my giraffe-print peep toe Nine West heels. While middle school me would have matched the shoes to my clothes, I added in an animal print to break up the outfit a bit and make it more interesting. Don't sleep on Nine West, you guys. Their heels are my favorite, and again, I always find them thrifting...and these were brand new!
