I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now, so here I am! Here's a few facts about me to break the ice:

1. I have a very strong support system in my life who I wouldn't trade for the world: God, my family, my friends, and my husband. I'm a very outgoing person and I always need someone to talk to, I don't believe in "no new friends."

2. I used to dance from ages 7-19. My senior year of college I tried Zumba and I fell in LOVE! I still do it to this day and there is no form of exercise that I like more. Dancing clears my head in a way that nothing else can.

3. It may seem totally vapid, but fashion means a lot to me. InStyle was my BIBLE when I was in middle school. I had an awesome teacher who let me borrow her old copies when she was done with them (hey Mrs. DiStefano!) Clothing, shoes, and makeup are just fun for me. I am terrible at art (the best I can do is coloring), so I like to express myself with what I wear. And I LOVE to thrift. That was the main reason I wanted to blog: to share my treasures with all of you and prove that you don't need to spend an arm and a leg to look stylish.
4. My blog name refers to my love of riot grrl and my birthstone. Kind of silly, I know, but those two words I feel accurately represent my style and interests. I love grunge, rock, and punk music, as well as combat boots, sneakers, and leather jackets. On the opposite side of the spectrum, I adore dresses, heels, and costume jewelry. I think every woman can wear whatever she wants without fear of being labeled, that why fashion is so fucking FUN.

5. Hockey is my favorite sport and the Flyers are my favorite team. I love how fast-paced and heated the sport is. I love following all NHL news, trade trackers, etc. Baseball is my second favorite sport to watch, I love going to Phillies games with my friends or watching the playoffs with my husband, who played baseball his whole life.
