Today has been A DAY already. I got to work and realized I forgot my laptop charger. And literally no one at my job had a charger that would fit. I thought I was in the clear using a backup laptop they gave me...until I updated it. And then it didn't work at all. Sigh. So now I am working/writing to you, dear reader, from my humble abode where my laptop is happily charging away.

The best part of the day? I got some soft pretzels because it was someone's birthday. SCORE!

Lucky for me, I'm dressed in some cozy duds that are the clothing equivalent to comfort food today (mmm now I want mac and cheese). As a kid, I wore a lot of Tommy Hilfiger and in high school I wore more Ralph Lauren, so whenever I see these brands while I'm thrifting, I get a rush of nostalgia. And today, I'm wearing both! It was a total act of serendipity that brought these Tommy jeans to me. I was passing by the return rack at Goodwill and they just so happened to catch my eye. They were miraculously my size, and even better, it was a half-off everything day! Holla!

PRO TIP: Always, always, ALWAYS check the dressing room return rack while thrifting. The best stuff is already picked out for you! I have not only spotted these jeans on the rack, but also brands like Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Polo, and even Burberry ( a trench that was wayyyy too big for me. Boo.)

This rusty orange sweater I'm rocking is actually from the men's section. My friend Ryan, who shares my love of a good deal, always gives me shit for buying clothes from the guys section (and therefore taking all the good stuff!) Orange is such a happy color for me; I gravitate toward warm hues and I could not leave this one behind. I will always have a soft spot for Ralph Lauren sweaters, their knit is my absolute favorite. This is comfy and a little grungy and I love wearing it with boots, as I did today.

PRO TIP: Don't be afraid to look in the guys' section for clothes. If you love over-sized button downs and flannels, well-knit, brand name sweaters, or awesome vintage sports sweatshirts/jerseys/tees, the men's aisle is a GOLDMINE.

My style has evolved a lot since my childhood. I was really into neon colors, owned a lot of polo shirts, and was really matchy-matchy with all of my outfits. Now, I like a richer color palate, have eschewed anything that even looks like a polo shirt, and wear crazy gaudy jewelry at any chance I get. I don't regret any of my fashion choices, however cringe-worthy they may be. Fashion has always been very important to me, so going back to any brands or looks that I once wore is like a big old blast from the past hug!
