Bird is the Word

Let's get this straight: I really don't feel any particular way about birds. I used to hate them because I college I lived next to some straight-up derelicts who had the most annoying, loud, screechy, smelly birds. I ended up calling the landlord and they actually had to move out. Oops. Anyway, now, birds and I are neutral for the most part, but I do have to say that they make a damn fine print on clothing.
I bought today's shirt on my trip to Colorado at the local Goodwill. It was so outlandish that I knew I had to buy it. Like I said yesterday, I like to buy the most ridiculous clothing items and challenge myself to figure out how exactly to wear them. One of my BFFs, Dan, said that he could see this silky number being worn tied up with a skirt or skinny pants, which I wholeheartedly agreed with. That's exactly how I wore it today, and I LOVE it. I don't own anything in this fabric and it is so smooth and delicious that I keep wanting to hug myself. And this print? It's everything. Purple toucans and exotic swallows frolicking among tropical flowers? Sign me the fuck up.
To add to this rich drunk aunt who goes on safaris/Grace Slick fantasy, I wore a black tank, olive pants, gold jewelry, and my calf-hair, giraffe-print peep toes. I wasn't terribly creative with my fashion earlier this week, and I needed this kick in the pants in the middle of the week to get my creative juices flowing. And what better way to do it with a (literally) wild print?
