Hey guys! Hope everyone had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend...the beginning of a new work week means a new blog post! I'm glad to be back on schedule (especially with sleeping!)
Can we talk about pants for a second? I used to rock a flared jean like nobody's business back in my younger days...then high school happened and skinny jeans BLEW. UP. Seriously, skinny jeans are great and I don't know how we ever lived without them, but sometimes I felt myself wondering, "Hey guys, remember how cool flares were? Maybe I don't want to constrict myself and my organs for the sake of fashion every day? Just a thought?" Well, all I needed was to get myself to a thrift store because there are scores of amazing, looser-fitted denim/all other pants to be found there. For example, today's "sailor pants", as I refer to them. I was so pumped when I found these at Salvation Army, mainly because of the awesome buttons (you KNOW I love a good detail). I don't think the nautical trend every really went away and I love the placement of these cute, gold, anchored buttons around the waistband. and let's talk about the leg. These have an amazing, medium-width flare that add a casual flair to these fancy pants. When I brought these home, David was excited to see I bought white pants (what is it with guys and white pants? Does my butt not look good in any other color?) but then his excitement turned to confusion when he saw the bell bottoms "Why are they so big?" he asked me. Sigh. Guys just don't get that we don't have to wear saran-wrap pants every flipping day.
I kept the color palette black and white with a pop of red today, my go-to colors when I don't feel like thinking too much about what to wear. I loooove my new cheery, cherry-print turban and I thought it added some fun to my look. If something has fruit printed on it, chances are I probably want it. That's something else that hasn't changed since I was a kid. Is the upcoming summer season bring out my inner child more than ever? We shall see.
