Sticking to What I Know

Whenever I have no clue what to wear, no matter what the season, I can always rely on black and white. I have amassed quite the collection of ebony and ivory over the years and it has become my go to. This color combo always makes you look put together and polished, even if you didn't put too much effort into your outfit, which is my favorite thing ever!

One of my other go-to tips for looking effortlessly stylish is mixing patterns. A good rule of thumb is to keep your patterns in the same color family to still keep it looking clean. That said, I LOVE mixing totally different patterns (like floral and leopard print) and I admire them on others as well! Today, I kept it simple with my scribbly skirt from my trip to the Denver Goodwill and a vintage DKNY polka-dotted top from the Montgomeryville Goodwill. Red lipstick and my faux-Chanel slingbacks completed my look. The basics don't always mean boring.

TOP: DKNY via Goodwill Montgomeryville, $1.98

SKIRT: Amanda and Chelsea via Goodwill Denver, $3.99

SHOES: faux Chanel via Salvation Army, $3.99

Lipstick is Milani in Matte Kiss
