Please disregard the title of this blog. I'm feeling very "hello, fellow kids" today apparently. And I feel like a lemon drop, apparently. Okay, carry about your day.
So this dress...omg. I found it a month or so ago while visiting my in-laws in Frederick, Maryland. We were walking downtown and I saw a clearance rack outside of one of my favorite consignment stores, Chic to Chic Inc. There were so many designer pieces on this rack: Diane von Furstenburg, Escada, Marc Jacobs...but this dress was a brand I had never heard of. Lafayette 148 NY. It was originally selling RESALE value for $125, so I figured that this must be a pretty big deal of a brand. And holy shit...one of their dresses can cost $650 according to their site!! Well, guess how much mine cost? $11. I seriously could not believe it.
I love the color of this dress; it's a mix of chartreuse and lemony yellow and it is just so yummy for spring and summer. I added my coral Cole Haan espadrilles from the Salvation Army, a ponytail, and hot pink lipstick and I was ready to start this southeastern PA heatwave. Bring it on, July!
