Mix ALL the Patterns

Whenever I find myself in a style rut, I like to peruse my closet and see what patterns I have on my clothes and throw them together. I have a bad habit of buying more of these than solid basics, which can be an issue sometimes. Mixing polka dots and stripes or leopard print and florals may seem like a daunting task, but in my opinion, it always looks really fresh and on-trend!
I have been waiting on an opportunity to wear my new-to-me Michael Michael Kors top that I got for a dollar (!!!) at West Main Consignment. Seriously. How was this relegated to the dollar rack?! This shirt is the bomb. It has a keyhole opening in the front, cut out shoulders, and a snazzy mod pattern/color scheme. I knew that it would look amazing with white or black pants, but I wanted to do something a little more daring with it. I grabbed my favorite J.Crew leopard-print pencil skirt (thanks Thorndale Goodwill!) and I ended up loving the combo. Since I have a lot of pattern going on, I opted for simple sandals and jewelry, then packed a punch with orange-red lipstick.
I'm already thinking about what other things I can mix up in my wardrobe, and I highly recommend you to try it out yourself!
